These Website Terms apply to the public ElectroDesigner.com website, free website tools and ElectroDesigner accounts. Paid digital works and software licences are additionally governed by the General License Terms and any product-specific terms, including the FaultChain PRO EULA.
1. Engineering purpose
ElectroDesigner provides engineering calculators, reference material, documentation and decision-support software. The tools are intended to assist qualified or competent users with screening, comparison and engineering workflow. They are not a substitute for professional judgement, project-specific verification, official manufacturer documentation, current standards, certification or legally required approval.
2. User responsibility
You are responsible for the correctness of inputs, assumptions, units, installation conditions, applicable standards and final engineering decisions. Before relying on an output for safety-critical work, verify it against authoritative project data, manufacturer documentation and the applicable standard or code edition.
3. ElectroDesigner accounts
Some features, including licence management and future saved-work functionality, require an ElectroDesigner account. You must provide a valid email address and keep your authentication credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity results from a security failure attributable to ElectroDesigner.
An account is personal to the registered user unless a specific business or team licence states otherwise. You must not create accounts by automated means, bypass bot-protection controls, impersonate another person or use an account to circumvent licence restrictions.
When creating an account through the ElectroDesigner registration interface, you are asked to accept these Website Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Privacy acknowledgement is informational and is not consent to unrelated marketing or optional tracking.
4. Account suspension and deletion
ElectroDesigner may temporarily restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect security, enforce licence restrictions or comply with law. Where practicable, proportionate measures will be used rather than unnecessary account termination.
You may request deletion of your account through the account page or by contacting info@electrodesigner.com. Account deletion is subject to records that may need to be retained for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, licensing or dispute-resolution purposes. The Privacy Policy explains data handling in more detail.
5. No certification or approval
A calculator result, FaultChain result, graph, report, component record or documentation page does not constitute UL listing, CE conformity assessment, third-party certification, authority approval, installation approval or a professional sign-off.
6. Availability and changes
ElectroDesigner may update calculations, interfaces, datasets, authentication mechanisms and documentation to correct errors, improve security or develop the service. Reasonable efforts are made to keep the website available, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed. Planned or emergency maintenance, infrastructure faults and third-party failures may cause temporary interruption.
7. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, original website text, software, interface design, calculation logic, graphics, databases and documentation are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use calculator outputs in your own engineering work where the relevant tool or licence permits it, but you may not copy, republish, scrape or redistribute substantial protected parts of the website or datasets to build a competing product or database.
8. Third-party names and data
Manufacturer names, product names, standards designations and trademarks belong to their respective owners. References do not imply sponsorship, certification, partnership or endorsement. Manufacturer data may change; official current manufacturer documentation remains authoritative.
9. Acceptable use and security
You must not attempt to bypass authentication, CAPTCHA or bot-protection controls, licence controls, rate limits or access restrictions; probe for vulnerabilities in a manner that risks service disruption or data exposure; inject malicious code; scrape the service at a rate that harms availability; or use the website to infringe third-party rights. Good-faith security reports should follow the Security / Responsible Disclosure page.
10. Paid products and Gumroad
Where a product is purchased through Gumroad, payment processing, transaction taxes, receipts and related payment administration are handled under the terms presented by Gumroad. The licence to use an ElectroDesigner product is governed by the applicable ElectroDesigner licence terms and product-specific conditions.
11. Privacy, authentication and cookies
Personal-data handling, including use of Supabase for authentication and Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection, is described in the Privacy Policy. Cookies and browser storage are described in the Cookie & Browser Storage Policy.
12. External links
The website may link to manufacturers, standards organisations, payment providers and other third parties. ElectroDesigner does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, security, content or policies.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ElectroDesigner is not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses resulting from incorrect inputs, unverified third-party data, use outside a tool's documented scope or engineering decisions made without the required independent verification. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Consumer rights
Where you are a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection rights remain unaffected. If a provision in these Terms conflicts with a mandatory right that cannot be waived, the mandatory rule prevails.
15. Governing law
Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. A consumer is not deprived of mandatory protections that apply under law that cannot be contractually excluded.
16. Changes
These Terms may be updated for future use of the website when the service, legal requirements or security model changes. The current version and update date will be published on this page. Material changes affecting registered users may also be communicated through the account interface or email where appropriate.
