How standards references are used
ElectroDesigner uses standards references to structure engineering workflows and identify the source of a method, but the website is not a substitute for the official standard. The edition adopted by the project, local amendments, equipment certification and manufacturer instructions remain controlling for design release. A calculator may therefore expose an engineering method without claiming that every project-specific rule has been evaluated automatically.
When a calculator references IEC, NFPA, UL or another technical document, use that reference to verify the applicable clause, table, scope and boundary conditions. Values that depend on a specific product should come from current manufacturer data rather than a generic preset. The calculator library keeps assumptions visible, while the documentation explains calculation scope and known limits.
