Two import workflows
Advanced / My Components manufacturer pack. FaultChain PRO Build 14 can import an authorised JSON data pack into the browser-local “My Components” library. Start from the manufacturer data-pack template. The importer requires an explicit confirmation that you are authorised to use the data and preserves manufacturer/model/source provenance fields. Supported imported component classes include Fuse, MCB, MCCB, ACB, contactor and cable. Up to 500 records are accepted per local import.
Comparison library. The separate comparison workspace uses its own stricter comparison-library schema with devices and cables arrays, source evidence and curve validation. Use the starter ratings or explicitly synthetic test fixture to inspect that format.
Manufacturer-exact data
A manufacturer-exact record should identify the manufacturer, family, exact model/part number, rating basis and authoritative source. Where a discrete current-limiting or I²t point is imported, FaultChain treats it as a discrete reference point rather than silently constructing a full manufacturer curve. Do not interpolate or extrapolate beyond published evidence unless the applicable manufacturer data or standard explicitly supports that method.
Source evidence
Record document title, revision/date, official URL, date checked and the basis on which you are permitted to use the data. A source link or “reviewed” flag is evidence of provenance; it is not manufacturer endorsement, certification or proof of database reuse rights.
Manufacturer source registry
FaultChain tracks official source routes for ABB, Schneider Electric, Eaton, Littelfuse, Mersen, Italweber and ETIM. The Build 14 PRO panel displays this registry as a provenance/onboarding aid. The registry does not mean that proprietary manufacturer databases or curves are bundled. Manufacturer packs are only to be presented as verified when exact data, source conditions and usage rights are documented.
Generic catalog and cables
The bundled catalog contains ElectroDesigner generic engineering presets, including common cable sections, generic protection templates and component classes. Generic records are for engineering screening and model setup. Exact conductor construction, impedance, k-factor, device breaking capacity and manufacturer current-limiting data must be verified for the real project.
Comparison curve rules
For comparison libraries, peak and I²t point arrays use prospective current as the x-axis with their own source evidence. Unsupported or invalid curve structures are rejected rather than silently repaired. One point does not define an interpolated curve.
Reproducibility
Projects store entered data and application/version metadata when exported. Reopening a project requires recalculation with the active engine. Reports and server calculations recompute from submitted inputs; client-supplied result fields are not treated as authoritative calculations.
Commercial-safe rule
Only import, embed or redistribute manufacturer data when you have a lawful basis and appropriate rights to do so. Linking to official manufacturer documentation and allowing the engineer to enter project data is deliberately distinct from copying a proprietary commercial database.
